HERT HOOFD

I’m enjoying the new body of work I’m exploring right now. It’s even more meditative than the work I’m familiar with. I start from an intuitive form and give it a figurative meaning just by the title of the work. It’s the same as recognizing a form in a cloud and your friend would say “oh it’s a bear” and you couldn’t imagine it to be something else after that. The piece below is called “HERT HOOFD”. By giving you a very clear definition of what I want you to see, I’m immediately influencing you, the viewer, and once you see it you can’t unsee it. And if you do, it’s a fun discussion, different from those dreadful art talks everybody apprehends.
